Are you an experienced Carpenter working in the field of EXHIBITIONS or Retail fit-out?

Spiro are looking for Carpenters to join our Spiro Coventry team. The role of the Carpenter is to employ a variety of techniques and finishes in the construction and delivery of our exhibition stands, exhibits and chalets as per the agreed specification

Workshop;

Set out projects from a specification and drawing Construct items in the workshop as required using a wide range of techniques including but not restricted to laminate bonding, spray paint finish and CNC production Produce a load list for logistics Liaise with and discuss decorating requirements with the paint shop Receive instructions from the Project Management team in respect of the clients and project requirements Stock up site box, first aid kit and cleaning kit prior to loading Check to ensure that the loaded stand on the vehicle is safe and secure

Site;

Take instruction from the GES on site management team Oversee unloading on site in a safe and controlled manner Liaise with sub contracted trades to ensure the most efficient delivery of the project Assemble the project as per the agreed specification and drawings Assist in the installation of non standard elements such as graphics or floorcovering as the project depicts Liaise with the client should the project or site manager not be present Clean down the project and vacuum as required once the site build is complete prior to handing over the project to the client Clear site and secure site plant for re use Dismantle the project in a safe and professional manner. Load all stand collateral on to pallets, shrink wrap and band as required to ensure a safe load whilst identifying items to be saved for re use

You will be required to;

Carpenters are required to work overtime to include evenings and weekends and when necessary work away from home at UK and overseas venues Adhere to H&S regulations and ensure a safe place of work both in the workshop and on show site Drive continuous improvements in quality, productivity and health & safety Perform all duties with the utmost integrity avoiding any conflict of interest between Global Experience Specialists and any other entities Represent the Company, as appropriate, in a professional manner Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position under the direction of the Production Team Leader Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dead line driven environment Must have excellent communication skills, be a team player, and self-motivated with an understanding of team goals.

What you need;

2+ yrs exhibition carpentry or retail fit-out experience Ability to set out projects from supplied drawings and specification Knowledge of exhibition industry and major UK venues (good to have not essential) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines Good communication skills Be a team player

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: 19.28-20.23 per hour
