Connect2Dudley is seeking a skilled carpenter to join Dudley Council on ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

Remove/re-fix and install new skirtings, architraves, mouldings and stud partitions Remove/re-fix and install new internal and external doors and windows (timber and UPVC) Remove/re-fix and install new kitchen units and worktops Form airing cupboards, shelving and frames for baths and panels Roofing works including structural timbers, soffits and fascias Replace timber floors and structural timbers Replace stairs, balustrades and banisters Install external handrails and posts Install fencing and gates Install/repair garage doors (timber and steel) General carpentry works appropriate to NVQ Level 2.

Requirements

Multi-skilled working required to maintain customer satisfaction and efficiency Carry out basic plumbing tasks (radiators, pipework, tanks, cylinders) Complete plaster patching and making-good works Undertake minor brickwork, flooring, pointing, and wall/floor tiling repairs Carry out limited electrical work (earth bond replacement) Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and Council officers; complete documentation on time Complete all work to required skill standards with care and professionalism Work independently or as part of a team; plan jobs, order materials, and complete paperwork Carry out reasonable tasks within skill and competency levels Comply fully with Council policies and procedures Provide advice to customers on home maintenance and Council repair policies Safeguard Council vehicles, tools, equipment, and site safety (especially around children) Be physically fit, able to work outdoors, at height, and attend health surveillance Work in dirty, confined conditions and handle heavy objects safely
