Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Second Fix Carpenter to join our team at Turnkey. The successful candidate will be responsible for all internal finishing work following the plastering stage. We need someone with a sharp eye for detail who takes pride in producing a high-quality aesthetic finish, as your work will be the final product seen by the client.
Key Responsibilities
Door Installation:
Expert hanging of internal doors (solid, fire, and ply), including fitting linings, stops, and casings.Mouldings & Trim:
Precision cutting and fitting of skirting boards, architraves, dado rails, and cornicesIronmongery:
Fitting locks, latches, handles, hinges, and door closers with high accuracy.Kitchens & Cabinetry:
Assembling and installing kitchen units and fitted wardrobes.Staircase Components:
Installing handrails, spindles, newel posts.Flooring:
Laying solid wood, engineered, or laminate flooring.Requirements & Qualifications
Tools:
Must possess own comprehensive kit of 110v or cordless power tools (chop saw, nail guns, router, planer, jigsaw, etc.) and hand tools.PPE:
Must have own steel-toe boots and personal safety equipment.Key Skills & Competencies
Precision:
Ability to work to tight tolerances (millimetre perfect) for visible finishes.Problem Solving:
Ability to overcome issues with uneven walls or floors to achieve a level finish.Blueprint Reading:
Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.Speed & Efficiency:
Ability to work quickly without compromising the quality of the finish.Cleanliness:
Respect for the finished environment (keeping the workspace clean and protecting installed surfaces)Benefits:
