We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our Reactive Maintenance Team. This role involves a variety of carpentry tasks including door installations, kitchen fitting, partition works, and other 1st and 2nd fix carpentry. The successful candidate will respond to maintenance requests across various sites and may also be required to assist the Construction Team with on-site works when needed.
Key Responsibilities-
Carry out all aspects of reactive and planned carpentry maintenance, including:
Internal and external door installation and repair
Kitchen unit installation and repairs
Stud wall and partition construction
1st fix works - framing, joisting, flooring, etc.
2nd fix works - skirting, architraves, door hanging, ironmongery, etc.
Ensure work is completed to high standards, safely, on time, and in line with company procedures and client specifications.
Assess materials required for each job and communicate procurement needs to the supervisor or manager.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Liaise with clients, tenants, and other team members professionally and courteously.
Support the Construction Team with carpentry-based tasks on larger construction or refurbishment projects as needed.
Complete relevant job documentation including timesheets, job sheets, and materials usage.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a qualified Carpenter.
Strong skills across a variety of carpentry disciplines, particularly in reactive maintenance and residential settings.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and plans.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent).
Full UK Driving Licence (desirable).
CSCS card (preferred).
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Skills:
Experience working within social housing, property maintenance, or construction environments.
Basic knowledge of other trades (e.g., plumbing, plastering) beneficial.
PASMA, Asbestos Awareness, or Manual Handling certification (training can be provided).
