Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with the ability to work on various projects, including residential and commercial builds. The Carpenter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Fabricate, assemble, and install wooden structures such as roofs, frames, and cabinetry. Perform joinery tasks with precision using hand tools and power tools. Carry out heavy lifting as required for various construction tasks. Conduct repairs on existing structures and fixtures. Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations. Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently. Maintain a clean and organised work environment. Assist in masonry tasks when necessary.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Strong knowledge of joinery techniques and carpentry best practices. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with carpentry work. Experience in painting and finishing woodwork is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately. A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential.
