To carry out all aspects of carpentry and joinery works, including installation, repair, and maintenance, across a range of domestic and communal properties, ensuring a high-quality and efficient service in line with organisational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out 1st and 2nd fix carpentry, including doors, frames, skirting, architraves, flooring, and fitted units.
Undertake repairs and replacements to windows, staircases, and other structural timber elements.
Install, repair, and maintain fire doors to required compliance standards.
Work in conjunction with other trades to complete multi-trade works as required.
Ensure all works are completed within agreed timescales and to a high standard.
Maintain accurate records of works carried out and materials used.
Adhere to Health & Safety procedures and ensure safe working practices at all times.
Provide excellent customer service when working in tenants' homes, maintaining professionalism and respect.
Report any property concerns or additional works required to supervisors.
Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working condition.
Qualifications & Skills
NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent trade qualification (essential).
Full UK driving licence (essential).
Knowledge of fire door regulations and installation standards (desirable).
Ability to use a wide range of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Experience
Proven experience as a carpenter in domestic or social housing settings.
Experience with both 1st and 2nd fix carpentry.
Experience fitting and repairing fire doors (desirable).
Strong understanding of compliance, safety, and quality standards.
