Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with the ability to work on various projects, including residential and commercial builds. The Carpenter will be responsible for creating, assembling, and installing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to complete tasks. Assemble furniture, cabinets, and other wooden structures according to specifications. Perform joinery tasks to ensure strong connections between materials. Carry out heavy lifting as required for transporting materials or equipment. Assist in roofing projects by installing rafters, trusses, and sheathing. Engage in masonry work when necessary to support carpentry tasks. Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times. Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure project completion.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry. Proficiency in using power tools such as saws, drills, and sanders. Strong skills in painting and finishing techniques for woodwork. Ability to plumb structures accurately for proper alignment. Experience with heavy lifting; must be physically fit to handle demanding tasks. Knowledge of joinery techniques is essential for crafting quality products. Familiarity with roofing systems and masonry principles is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project needs.
