We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing a variety of wooden and other materials in both residential and commercial projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse tasks, from detailed joinery to large-scale carpentry, contributing to high-quality craftsmanship across multiple sites. The ideal applicant will possess a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience using hand tools and power tools, and be capable of undertaking physically demanding tasks with precision and safety.
Responsibilities
Fabricate bespoke joinery components according to technical drawings and specifications
Assemble structures using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
Install wooden frameworks, fixtures, and fittings in various construction environments
Perform roofing tasks including truss assembly and roof framing
Conduct heavy lifting of materials such as timber, panels, and other building components
Carry out construction painting, masonry work, plumbing tasks, and electrical installations as required
Assist with site preparation, including site clearance and material organisation
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
Maintain a clean and organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency
Qualifications
Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry or joinery roles within the construction industry
Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, chisels, levels, etc.
Competence in operating power tools including drills, saws, sanders, etc.
Knowledge of roofing techniques, masonry work, plumbing systems, electrical wiring is advantageous
Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work
Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or joinery are desirable but not essential
Physical fitness to perform demanding manual tasks over extended periods
