About us

Waterpod (waterpod.co.uk) is a builder of luxury floating homes. These are just like large garden buildings that float on water. We build our floating homes in a factory and deliver these nationally and internationally. Due to expansion of our business, we are looking to hire a small team of 3 carpenters, either on a full-time or fixed-term basis, led by a lead-carpenter (working foreman).

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter Supervisor (Foreman) to lead a small team of 2-4 carpenters to build luxury floating homes within our Berkshire-based factory. The ideal candidate will possess 10 or more years of carpentry experience across both first and second fix work, with of experience in timber construction including SIP panels, first and second fix.

Duties

Take overall responsibility for the end-to-end construction of SIP-based floating homes These are just like SIP garden buildings - built on floats. Both hands-on and supervising first and second fix carpentry. Operating machinery including telehandlers and scissor lifts. Construction of SIP-based superstructure, internal walls, internal doors, exterior cladding, kitchen fitting, etc. Provide training and mentorship to junior carpenters, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Carpenter Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with subcontractors, and team members. A commitment to maintaining high safety standards on-site. Experience with timber frame and SIPs construction of garden buildings and homes.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: 45,000.00-55,000.00 per year
