We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden and other material structures on-site and in workshop environments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in carpentry and joinery to contribute to diverse projects, including roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and construction painting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised joinery techniques, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety.
Duties
Fabricate and assemble bespoke wooden components using traditional and modern joinery techniques
Install structures such as frameworks, flooring, roofing supports, and customised fittings on-site
Operate hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and join materials accurately
Assist with roofing tasks, including fitting trusses and roof coverings
Perform heavy lifting of materials and components in accordance with health and safety regulations
Contribute to masonry, plumbing, electrical, and construction painting tasks as required by project specifications
Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety standards, and project deadlines
Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times
Requirements
Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry or joinery roles within construction or similar industries
Proficiency with hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, saws)
Knowledge of roofing techniques and masonry work is desirable
Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical systems or construction painting is advantageous
Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in carpentry or joinery are preferred but not essential
Physical fitness to perform manual labour throughout the working day
