Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled Carpenter and/or Joiner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in joinery and carpentry, with the ability to fabricate and assemble various wooden structures and components. This role requires proficiency in using both hand tools and power tools, as well as a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes. The Joiner will work on a variety of projects, contributing to the construction and renovation of buildings, furniture, and other structures.

Experience of using oak and being able to hang doors is necessary. Any experience of making window frames is also very beneficial.

This role is a short term position that may lead to a permanent position.

For the right candidate, renumeration is negotiable.

Duties



Fabricate and assemble wooden structures according to specifications and design plans. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to cut, shape, and join materials. Perform joinery tasks including fitting doors, windows, and furniture components. Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and electricians on-site. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly. Conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with building regulations. Assist in roofing tasks as required, ensuring proper installation techniques are followed.

Requirements



Experience in using Oak is preferred. Proven experience in joinery or carpentry is essential. Proficiency in using hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, sanders). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Knowledge of building codes and regulations related to joinery work. Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on precision in measurements and cuts. Capability to plumb structures accurately during assembly. Experience in painting finishes is advantageous but not mandatory. A valid driver's licence may be required for travel between job sites.
