Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled carpenter and Joiner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks involving the fabrication and installation of wooden structures and fixtures. This role requires good understanding of joinery techniques, as well as the ability to work with various materials and tools. The Joiner will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed to high standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

Selects and measures appropriate wood and cuts, shapes and drills to specification using saws, planes, chisels and other power or hand tools.

Aligns and fixes prepared wood pieces by screwing, nailing, gluing and dowelling to form frames, shop fronts, counter units, decking, theatrical sets, furniture, small wooden craft, scale models and wooden templates.

Checks accuracy of work with square, rule and spirit level. Maintains and repairs woodwork and fittings.

Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing wooden structures.

Examines drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.

Collaborate with other tradespeople, including plumber, electrician and bricklayers to complete projects.

Skills

Proficient in joinery techniques with a background in carpentry. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. knowing Arabic and Urdu is Advantageous.
