We are seeking a skilled Carpenter/Joiner to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various aspects of joinery and carpentry, with the ability to fabricate and assemble components for construction projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Duties
Fabricate and assemble wooden structures, frameworks, and fittings according to specifications.
Perform joinery tasks including cutting, shaping, and finishing wood materials.
Carry out all aspects of joinery works as required on-site.
Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various joinery tasks.
Conduct painting and finishing work to ensure the aesthetic quality of completed projects.
Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians, to complete projects efficiently.
Assist in heavy lifting and moving materials as needed during the construction process.
Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Skills
Proficient in joinery techniques with experience in carpentry.
Familiarity with roofing systems and masonry practices is advantageous.
Ability to fabricate custom woodwork with precision.
Competent in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to joinery work.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
Capability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily duties.
Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and other tradespeople.
The first job we need help with is a small renovation of a care home in Fenham. The ideal candidate will take flooring, first and second fix, hanging doors, boxing in etc in their stride and finish to a high standard.
