We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter/Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden and other material structures on-site and in workshop environments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in carpentry and joinery, looking to contribute to diverse building projects. The position involves working with a range of tools and materials, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
Fabricate bespoke joinery components according to technical drawings and specifications
Assemble structures using hand tools, power tools, and specialised joinery equipment
Install fixtures, fittings, and structural elements on-site with precision
Perform carpentry tasks including cutting, shaping, and fitting timber and other materials
Carry out roofing tasks as required, including the installation of roof trusses and coverings
Undertake heavy lifting of materials safely to facilitate construction activities
Assist with construction painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, or other trades as needed
Maintain a clean and organised work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to meet project deadlines
Experience
Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry, or joinery roles within the construction industry
Skilled in the use of hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and measuring devices
Proficient with power tools including drills, sanders, saws, and routers
Knowledge of roofing techniques and materials is advantageous
Experience with heavy lifting procedures and safety protocols in construction settings
Familiarity with construction painting, masonry, plumbing, or electrical work is desirable but not essential
Strong understanding of health & safety regulations relevant to building sites
