Overview


We are seeking a versatile and skilled self-employed carpentry based Multi Trader to join our dynamic construction and maintenance team, initially based in NW1 but generally in the London area. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of practical skills across various trades based in carpentry & joinery but also versatile in general building, enabling them to undertake diverse tasks on-site. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience in multiple trades but trained in carpentry to contribute to a variety of projects, ensuring quality workmanship and timely completion. The position is paid self-employed under the HMRC CIS scheme, so registration is essential and the role is suitable for candidates eager to utilise their broad skill set in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Responsibilities



Carry out fabrication, assembly, and installation tasks across different trades as required. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively. Perform carpentry and joinery work, including framing, fitting, and finishing. Conduct roofing repairs or installations, ensuring adherence to safety standards. Undertake heavy lifting tasks safely, assisting with the movement of materials and equipment. Carry out construction painting to specifications, ensuring a high-quality finish. Perform plumbing duties such as pipe fitting, repairs, and installations. Execute masonry work including bricklaying, blockwork, and concrete finishing. Assist with electrical tasks where qualified or support electricians in their work. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met efficiently.

Qualifications



Proven experience in multiple trades such as fabrication, carpentry, roofing, plumbing, masonry, or electrical work. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools relevant to various trades. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. Strong understanding of construction processes and safety procedures. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Relevant certifications or qualifications in specific trades are desirable but not essential if demonstrated through practical experience. A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills as required on-site. This role is ideal for adaptable professionals seeking a varied workload within the construction industry. Candidates should be organised, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering high standards of workmanship across multiple disciplines. A valid full UK driving licence with no points is essential, as the successful candidate will, after a short probationary period, be provided with a company van.
