Cash & Banking Finance Analyst



Provide an effective and efficient service of the specific area within the complex Cash & Banking process, liaising with our branch network, at all levels, whilst ensuring that the provision of accurate and up to date information is given.

Principal Accountabilities

Fully own the production and distribution of high-volume balance sheet reconciliations and reports within agreed timelines. Maintain effective control and ownership of balance sheet ledger accounts in line with group policies. Identify and resolve erroneous balances with support from the Finance Controller. Accurately reconcile system and bank account balances, with full understanding of the data behind the numbers. Respond to all queries in a timely and professional manner. Prioritise and process payments totalling approximately 450m per month, including: BACS Cheque runs Foreign payments (via system and Bankline) Direct debits Ensure all payment runs meet agreed schedules, terms, authorisation protocols, and paperwork compliance. Act as the main point of contact for branch banking and customer cash queries. Serve as a business partner for all branches within your remit. Communicate report findings clearly and work with stakeholders to resolve issues. Support internal and external audit requests. Strive to meet and exceed operational targets. Monitor the quality of work delivered by the wider team. Ensure finance procedures and controls are consistently followed. Demonstrate strong customer focus by owning queries through to resolution. Escalate complex or out-of-scope issues appropriately. Collaborate effectively within the team and support a positive, cooperative work environment. Take initiative to resolve team challenges and build trust across the business. Apply a common-sense approach to problem-solving and identify actionable insights. Investigate issues thoroughly, escalating or resolving as appropriate.
