Summary

A wide-ranging but 'hands-on' role within the finance department, focused on reconciling and maintaining the group bank accounts and cash position.

Responsibilities

Accounting:

Daily reconciliation of bank accounts / cash book Posting bank transactions and managing bank account balances Set up and call direct debits as required Export and process payments - weekly wages, monthly salaries, scrap account transactions, suppliers Process adhoc payments as required - Proforma, deposits etc Manage Scrapyard transactions, generate, post & reconcile transactions in accounting systems Generate and post Journals as necessary Support the external auditors and provide all relevant information during the annual audit process

Subcontractors:

Create and verify new subcontractors Input and allocate weekly subcontractors' invoices Input applications Generate and process weekly Subcontractors payments Generate and submit Monthly CIS return / payment

Requirements

Experience in a similar role within small and medium organisations (minimum 2 years) Familiarity with different account systems (ideally Integrity /Mardak/ Evo M/ Fred experience) Good systems skills - Microsoft Word, Excel and outlook (pivot tables, vlookups) Experience of audit and dealing with auditors Able to communicate effectively, build rapport and develop constructive relationships Able to work independently and use judgement to decide correct course of action Able to present information in a clear and informative format for both financial and non-financial users Accurate, efficient, and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as needed Team player with a pro-active and flexible attitude
