Cashbook & Sales Ledger Administrator

to join our busy Finance team.

The Role



This role is ideally suited to someone with strong attention to detail who is comfortable working with large volumes of transactions. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring customer payments are accurately recorded, reconciled, and investigated where necessary.

You will be working closely with the wider Finance team and Customer Service to ensure the Sales Ledger is kept accurate, clean, and up to date.

Key Responsibilities



Accurately post customer BACS payments and direct debit/credit card payments to Sales Ledger accounts. Take ownership of allocating payments correctly and maintaining a clean and up-to-date Sales Ledger. Reconcile Sage 200 bank accounts relating to customer receipts. Reconcile payments from our online shops across multiple payment platforms, including Shopify, PayPal, TikTok and Klarna. Reconcile receipts posted automatically into Sage 200. Post transaction fees and investigate discrepancies. Reconcile all credit card receipts and investigate discrepancies to enable timely responses to customer queries. Work closely with the Customer Service team to communicate with customers regarding payment-related queries. Check, investigate where necessary, and process customer refunds accurately and promptly. Provide occasional support to the Purchase Ledger Administrator.

Skills & Experience Required



Previous experience in a Sales Ledger, Cashbook, or similar finance role. Experience using Sage 200 or a similar accounts package. Comfortable working in a high-volume environment, processing large numbers of daily transactions (1,000+). Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including lookup functions, and Microsoft Outlook. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
