Job Summary


The Red Lion Hotel are seeking a dedicated and experienced Breakfast/CDP chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for food production and hospitality to develop their skills within a supportive team. Previous experience in restaurant settings and culinary arts is highly desirable, along with strong leadership qualities for supervising junior staff when necessary.

Responsibilities



Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards. Assist in food presentation and ensure all meals are served promptly and to the highest quality. Supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain efficiency. Manage food production processes, ensuring consistency and adherence to safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and workstations. Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory control, and report shortages or issues promptly. Uphold food safety standards at all times, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements



Proven experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment, with a strong background in food preparation and cooking. Supervising experience or team management skills are advantageous. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within a professional kitchen. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and cleanliness. Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members. Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by operational demands. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21-13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
