Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Floor Layer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of flooring in commercial and residential settings. This role requires a strong understanding of construction techniques, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The ideal applicant will possess relevant experience in flooring installation and be familiar with the use of hand tools, power tools, and schematics. Responsibilities

Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and repairing surfaces to ensure proper flooring installation Measure and cut flooring materials accurately using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry skills Install various types of flooring including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, or carpet according to project specifications Follow schematics and technical drawings to ensure precise placement and alignment of flooring materials Apply adhesives or other fastening methods as required for different flooring types Perform finishing tasks such as trimming, sealing, and polishing to achieve a professional appearance Assist with related construction tasks such as painting or minor carpentry work when necessary Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times

Experience

Proven experience in construction, specifically in flooring installation or related trades such as carpentry or construction painting Proficiency with hand tools including chisels, hammers, screwdrivers, and measuring tapes Familiarity with power tools such as drills, saws, and sanders Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately Knowledge of different flooring materials and installation techniques is highly desirable Experience working with construction plans and following safety protocols on-site is essential

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: 15.15-24.96 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 20 per week
