Job Description

We're looking for a reliable and motivated Casual Porter Driver to join our Portering & Support Services team at North Devon District Hospital.
You'll play a keypart in keeping the hospital running smoothly - safely transporting patients,equipment, and materials across the site, while ensuring a professional andcaring service for everyone you assist.
No two days are thesame, and your role will involve driving duties as well as general porteringtasks around the hospital.
Main Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients, equipment, and materials within the hospital.
• Drive and maintain hospital vehicles - carrying out regular checks and reporting any defects.
• Deliver post, specimens, medical records, and supplies across departments.
• Assist with moving and handling duties (full training provided).
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and comply with all infection control procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

What We're Looking For

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Physically able to carry out moving and handling tasks.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Previous portering or NHS experience is desirable but not essential - full training will be provided.
• Flexible and reliable, with a professional approach to work.
