A job opportunity has arisen for a Casual Worker Laboratory Assistant within Russell IPM Ltd (work envisaged to be available for approximately 3 months)

We have pioneered a number of new technologies for agriculture, pest control and public health, including smart IoT-connected monitoring products.
The purpose of the role of
Laboratory Assistant
is to produce goods through general assembly, packing and re-packing of all ranges of company products in accordance with company's production planning to agreed specification within economic time scales.
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:
Labelling, folding, packaging, shrink wrapping and counting company products.
Maintain stocks of resources, equipment and consumables for laboratory use
Operate machinery HPLC and GC equipment in a safe manner.
Follow batch orders & monitor work practices to ensure that product is produced to agreed specifications and adhere to quality procedures as in process instructions and process records.
Work in accordance with Health and Safety procedures.
Work as an individual or as part of a team, in both cases to ensure optimum efficiency
Report to Laboratory Manager where appropriate in event of any problems that are or could prevent efficient or continual production
The Candidate:
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a good level of Maths and English together with excellent problem solving skills.
The ability to communicate effectively and confidently, both written and oral at all levels.
Able to work on own initiative.
Able to work well as part of a team.
Able to follow instructions.
Reliable and trustworthy.
Willing to learn.
You will be organised and a quick thinker.
Possess a good eye for detail and quality.
The ability to work well under pressure is also essential for this role.
Must be flexible to work extra hours and change shifts when required.
Rate of pay and hours:
Meets National Minimum Wage plus an addition 12.07% per hour holiday supplement.
Morning to Friday 8.45am until 16:45pm
37.5 hours per week but further additional hours may be required
