Casual Raceday Event Stewards

We are recruiting Event Stewards to work on a casual basis for our new and exciting 2025 season.

2025 is set to be an exciting year for the racecourse, our customers, and for our team as we launch new raceday themes and events.

We are investing further towards providing an unforgettable customer experience and we want people like you to be part of this exciting year!

We are looking to add some additional stewards to our pool of casual staff. As a steward, your shift could be anything from directing cars, working on an entrance gate, checking tickets, and generally helping out wherever it is needed.

If you can greet every customer with a friendly smile, be flexible in job roles, as well as being reliable, we would love to hear from you!

During the 2025 season we have 18 racedays from April to October, as well as some exciting new events coming up. At Newton Abbott Racecourse we are about more than just great horse racing, including live entertainment after racing on our key racedays.

The hourly rate for our stewards aged 18 upwards for our 2025 season is 12.50 plus the statutory holiday pay allowance. Shift duration varies but is typically 4-6 hours but can be longer.

As part of our team, you'll have the chance to develop valuable skills, work alongside supportive colleagues, and contribute to a positive and dynamic work environment.

We are looking for people who would be available for the majority of our race fixtures.
