Job Description

Purpose: To assist in the provision of an effective and efficient transport service for students at the Alderman White School when required. Flexibility on working days is essential due to the nature of the post.

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Working time: Early Mornings, Afternoon, Evenings and Weekends (when required).

Main Duties and Responsibilities:



To undertake the safe transportation of passengers and/or equipment to various locations in the school mini bus, adhering to all traffic laws at all times. Responsible for the health and safety, comfort and welfare of students and staff. To carry out regular vehicle safety checks, fuelling, and basic maintenance and cleaning duties accordingly. To report any vehicle defects, faults, incidents, accidents or near misses immediately to the Operations Manager. To ensure the mini bus is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use. To ensure all mileage logs and other paperwork relating to the mini bus is kept up to date and accurate. To maintain the school's image; appropriate working attire should be worn at all times and kept in a clean and tidy condition. To work within health and safety guidelines and other guidelines that may be issued from time to time. To attend any relevant training courses as identified and agreed. To undertake such duties appropriate to the post as may from time to time be required to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school. All staff at The Alderman White School have a part to play in supporting the school's ethos, understanding students safeguarding requirements and promoting the best possible image to parents and prospective parents

Reflection on own practice and private study and undertake any professional development necessary as identified in SIP.

Maintain a professional portfolio of evidence to support performance management process. Participation in the Trust's staff appraisal programme Participation in appropriate in-service education programmes
Relationships

To be responsible to:

The Head Teacher, with Line Management through the School Operations Manager.
To co-operate with:

All colleagues, both teaching and support staff

Unions and other organisations representing teachers and other persons on the staff

Persons and bodies outside the school to ensure that the school works in harmony with the community

This is a Multi-Academy Trust and the post holder may be required to hold a comparable post on another site within the Trust, if the situation arises.

The job description may be subject to amendment or modification, should circumstances change, but any changes will be discussed with you in the first instance.

In addition to the duties specified you may be asked to undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined, subject to the proviso that normally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific cases. To provide flexibility and to meet the priorities of the Trust during times of peak work flow you will be asked to support other members of the Trust team undertaking duties that may be below your current grading.

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 14.17 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 10 per week
