Renewable energy is a crucial facet of the McKinstry group's business and in recent years the company has expanded its outlets and invested heavily in new innovative ways to recycle and become a major player in this ever-expanding industry.
This will enable the group to process Grades A, B and C waste wood which is obtained from commercial customers, from local council amenity sites, and from the activities of the McKinstry recycling facility itself.
As our premises are located adjacent to dock side McKinstry Group exports processed waste wood product via cargo vessels to customers on the UK Mainland and European destinations, significantly expanding the Biomass operation.
With Biomass facilities at Nutts Corner, the Carnbane Industrial Estate in Newry, and Belfast Harbour complex the Biomass division has gone from strength to strength.
Today, it is arguably the largest Biomass producer in Ireland, with many clients across the island, as well as the UK and further afield who take woodchip from recycled wood products as fuel.
