You will work closely with some of our key retail customers, as well as with our internal sales and marketing teams, to maximise range, space and display of brands in grocery and impulse customers, using best practice in Category Management. This role will play a key part in developing and delivering compelling category insights and recommendations which drive sustainable growth for the mutual benefit of the business and some of our key external customers. You will use multi-sourced data to track performance, identify the greatest customer and shopper opportunities, and to inform category strategy. Key Accountabilities

  • Work with some of our key retail partners, building strong relationships and supporting the development of the category
  • Continually review customer performance against the market, and recommend actions to improve performance, using both macro context and category data
  • Drive the development of range, pricing, promotions and merchandising within each account, to maximise sales for Valeo and the retailer
  • Work alongside customers to support range reviews, providing impartial category expertise and becoming a first point of contact for sugar confectionery
  • Use market data to make clear recommendations where areas of opportunity exist and ensure we have strong category rationale for the things we are doing
  • Identify key listing & distribution opportunities, and work with internal teams to ensure clear category rationale is provided to close gaps
  • Work with closely Brand Managers and be instrumental in delivering brand plans to assigned customers
  • Communicate with brand managers to ensure category plans and initiatives are reflected in brand plans
  • Provide clear category rationale for any NPD opportunities, and credible size of prize opportunities


Qualifications
  • Ideally degree educated or evidence of strong academics
  • Experience working within an FMCG environment in category, insight or account management
  • Solid experience of category management process & first-hand experience of managing customer relationships
  • Experience translating complex data into actionable recommendations
  • Working knowledge of Kantar and IRI or similar
  • Dunnhumby knowledge advantageous
