Salary: \xc2\xa345,000 \xe2\x80\x93 \xc2\xa355,000 per annum plus car allowance and benefits

Key responsibilities:

• Seek opportunities to develop the company\'s own brand and source directly from low-cost countries.
• Negotiation and management of trading agreements.
• Managing promotional activity.
• Supporting the company\'s sustainability initiative.
• Working with the space planning team to maximise merchandising benefits.
• Implementing new product initiatives and managing exit plans.
• Supporting Web Site data requirements.
• Responsible for the category and assortment strategy delivering a great product to customers.
• Keep up to date with current trends and new initiatives.
• Ensure that buying decisions are sound commercially and will drive sales and profits.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Category Manager in the builder\'s merchant industry is essential.
• Strong analytical skills and experience driving long-term and profitable strategies.
• Solid understanding of what the competition are doing and staying one step ahead of the game.
• Ability to manage projects from concept through to completion.
• Highly customer focused with an eye for current trends and the ability to introduce new ranges.
• Work well as part of the wider business and support ongoing projects and take true ownership of your category.
