Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Category Manager Indirect.

• Full Time - 39 hours per week.
• Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
• Unionised site - works in partnership with Unite the Union.

The Category Manager Indirect is responsible for supporting the category leads with live projects and any on-site support that is required for sourcing. The candidate will also be working with key internal stakeholders to develop and help deploy Category Strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Undertake all purchasing responsibilities to support the P2P (Purchase to Pay) process. This includes processing purchase requisitions and new supplier applications for individual sites and supporting invoice queries (when the Procurement team's responsibility).
• Managing, negotiating and contracting RFQs and tenders for specific allocated projects.
• Lead/attend daily meetings, update respective KPIs and monitor supplier performance.
• Develop strong supplier relationships
• Support supplier business reviews, capacity assessments and risk reviews
• Identify & record cost saving opportunities
• Achieve the lowest total cost of acquisition for goods and services taking into account quality, cost, delivery & service requirements.
• Working with Category Leads and Managers to manage Operational requirements to implement commodity strategies.
• Set up and maintain correct sourcing/purchasing parameters in the ERP system
• Lead the activity in expediting / late component delivery fees.
• Working with stake holders to create & submit and Indirect budget with performance result to actual as a main KPI, including Energy UK wide.
• Drive the chargeback process and contract penalties alignment

Skills/Knowledge Requirements
Academic:

• University degree in Business Administration, Engineering or similar

Professional Accreditations:

• Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply desired or working towards the qualification

Experience:

• 1- 2 years Procurement experience or equivalent in a customer-facing role
