Procurement Heads Public Services & Infrastructure team have partnered with one of the UK's leading property developers to recruit a Category Manager - Soft FM.
With over 500 development sites this role will play a pivotal part in managing a re-tender across a 20m spend for the Soft FM category.
We are seeking an experienced Category Manager - Soft FM to lead and manage the Indirects category, which includes areas such as soft FM, call monitoring, recruitment, IT, legal, uniforms, and more. This is an opportunity to put your mark in this role with significant opportunity to deliver value through effective sourcing and contracting.
You will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies that deliver best-in-class outcomes in terms of quality, cost, service proposition, and innovation. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will define requirements, evaluate supplier capabilities, and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and value creation.
As Category Manager - Soft FM your key responsibilities will be:

• Leading and managing the Indirects category across multiple sub-categories.
• Reviewing current contracts, supplier performance, spend data, and market benchmarks.
• Developing and executing category strategies through strategic sourcing and tendering.
• Preparing tender documentation (RFI, RFP, pricing matrices, evaluation criteria, scorecards).
• Engaging stakeholders to ensure accurate business requirements.
• Presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Leading contract negotiations and mobilisation.
• Managing up to two direct reports.

Skills and experience required:

• Proven experience in leading and managing an indirects category.
• Ability to deliver at pace and execute strategies that deliver tangible benefits.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end sourcing processes, including contract negotiation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commercial acumen and analytical capability.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
