An exciting opportunity to join our Commercial function; as we continue to grow and expand, we are seeking a dedicated individual on a to provide support to cross-functional teams on a wide range of categories.

This temporary role to provide maternity leave cover for an initial 12 months.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a strategic and commercially astute Category Manager to lead the sourcing, negotiation, and management of Indirect and Subcontractor categories across the UK. This role is pivotal in ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and high-quality procurement of services such as site services, maintenance, installation, and facilities management across the Depot network.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy Development:

Develop and implement category strategies for indirect spend areas, aligned with business goals and operational needs.

Supplier Management:

Identify, evaluate, and manage a network of subcontractors and service providers. Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure compliance with SLAs and KPIs.

Contract Negotiation & Compliance:

Lead contract negotiations, ensuring favourable terms, risk mitigation, and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

Cost Optimisation:

Drive cost savings and value creation through strategic sourcing, demand management, and supplier consolidation.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with internal teams across the Business to understand requirements and deliver procurement solutions.

Market Intelligence:

Monitor market trends, supplier innovations, and regulatory changes to inform sourcing strategies and maintain competitive advantage.

Sustainability & ESG:

Support the company's sustainability goals by sourcing environmentally responsible suppliers and promoting ethical procurement practices.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience in Category management of indirect goods and services. Experience with third party subcontractor management would be beneficial. Excellent negotiation, analytical, and supplier relationship management skills. MCIPS qualification or working towards it is desirable. Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience working with container hire, temporary accommodation, or construction site services desirable but not essential Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
