We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Catering and Hospitality Assistant to join our vibrant team 9.30am to 2.30pm on 2 days per week. As an assistant you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while preparing beverages, menu food and catering buffets. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service will ensure that each guest enjoys their experience at our venue.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve a variety of hot barista and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop and kitchen areas, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
Assist with food preparation for menu while following proper hygiene practices.
Prepare and display catering buffets during the day, evening or weekend.
Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking orders accurately and providing recommendations when needed.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
Handle cash transactions and maintain an accurate till, demonstrating basic maths skills for processing payments.
Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and provide help where needed.
Requirements
Previous Catering / Hospitality role is essential.
Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of basic food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
A friendly disposition with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
Flexibility to work additional hours, including occasional weekends, evenings and additional week days for events.
