Grade 16 24,413 (FTE), 16,689 (Actual)

WORKING HOURS:

30 hours per week, 08.00 to 14.30, Monday to Friday

WORKING WEEKS:

38 weeks, term time only, plus 2 INSET days in September

PAID WEEKS:

Less than 5 Years: 43.9649 weeks (including statutory holiday entitlement)

More than 5 Years: 44.5518 weeks (including statutory holiday entitlement)

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB



To ensure the safeguarding of students and make a significant contribution to their efforts to both 'enjoy and achieve'.



To perform a variety of manual tasks associated with food production and service in the catering unit, whilst complying with all appropriate legal requirements.

To make and decorate approximately 200 cakes every morning.

Whilst the postholder will be employed at Bishop Fox's School, they will be required to undertake the serving of meals at any of the schools who purchase the catering provision and provided with transport to do so.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES



Food Production:



To assist as directed with all aspects of basic food preparation. Cleaning and clearing of food production areas.

Food Service:



Prepares counters and dining areas for service. Preparation and sets out of condiments. Provides a positive and professional service to customers, providing information about products as required. Assists with the serving of hot and cold food and beverages, some of which may be as part of corporate hospitality. Ensures sufficient food supplies throughout the service period to meet customer demand, including fridges. Ensures counters are clear and clean of debris during service.

Cleaning/Washing Up:



Ensures catering area is clear and clean after service, including catering equipment and tables in accordance with the cleaning schedule. Washing up of crockery, cutlery, glass wear, utensils etc. as required - either via automatic dishwasher or hand sinks. To maintain a high standard of hygiene and safety within the workplace. To undertake all aspects in the cleaning of equipment - in accordance with the cleaning schedule and to sign off when the task is complete.

Customer Service:



Greet all customers helpfully and courteously. Provide customers with information about products. To report any complaints or compliments to the Head of Kitchen.

May be required to:



Operate a cashless till system. Keep limited records (e.g. counter checks and stock sheets). Clean and fill fridges. Assist with the preparation and service at special functions.

Customer Service:



To complete annual compliance training. To ensure compliance with GDPR at all times. To maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for this role.

Physical Effort and Working Conditions:



Works in a busy kitchen environment involving lifting, moving and carrying catering equipment and hot and cold food. Cooking and serving food.
