We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our catering services run smoothly and efficiently. This position involves working closely with the culinary team to prepare and serve food, assist with guest services, and maintain high standards of food safety. The position is working in a care home so you must have a DBS.
Duties
Assist in the preparation and presentation of food ensuring high standards of quality and taste.
Provide excellent guest services by welcoming residents, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns..
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the catering area, including proper storage of food items.
Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards throughout all catering operations.
Assist in the breakdown of the kitchen, including cleaning up and returning equipment to storage.
Skills
Strong guest service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
Experience in culinary arts or catering is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant, or hotel settings is advantageous.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and team members effectively.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
