To be responsible for assisting in the daily service operation of the restaurant, providing general food preparation and excellent customer service to defined company health and safety standards.
To support the delivery of high-quality catering services to students, staff, and visitors by assisting in food preparation, service, and maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene. This role plays a key part in enhancing the overall learner and staff experience and contributing to Training 2000's welcoming environment.
Main Duties:
Assist in preparing and serving food and beverages in line with portion control, presentation, and site standards.
Provide excellent customer service to learners, staff, and visitors.
Operate tills and handle payments accurately following internal financial procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all catering and dining areas, including washing up, clearing tables, and sanitizing surfaces. To understand cleaning procedures and practises as directed and to be conversant with all cleaning agents, chemicals and appliances and use in accordance with legal requirements.
Adhere to food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen management procedures at all times. Receive, check, and store deliveries following stock rotation procedures.
Work collaboratively with the catering team to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Report any equipment faults, health and safety concerns, or supply shortages promptly to the estates manager.
To practise and maintain 5 star hygiene standards.
To ensure conformance with all health, safety and food standards agency requirements through adherence to legal requirements and maintenance of all necessary health and safety and restaurant records. E.g. temperature and cleaning records.
To ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures and notably policies and procedures in relation to Safeguarding, Health Safety & Environment Equality & Diversity
To undertake any other duties required as deemed necessary by the Estates manager.
Essential requirements
Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths.
Knowledge of all Company Health and Safety policies, Qualifications and procedures and their application.
Knowledge of HSE, food safety and legislative food.
Handling requirements and standards.
Demonstrates highly effective and consistent communication and active listening skills within the team and department.
Demonstrates a positive and proactive approach in anticipating customer requirements and delivers to high standards of customer satisfaction.
Experience of delivering high quality food and customer service to both internal and external clients.
Experience of cash handling and use of electronic point of sale
Ability to maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory regulations
