Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Catering Assistant who is willing to play a leading role in our team, feeding patients, visitors and staff. Ensuring we keep a clean and hygienic environment, while we prepare to move to our new building.
Contract:Permanent
Salary:Competency Based Framework, Band 2, 24,323 to 24,529 pro rata, competency-based framework with enhancements for weekends and Bank Holidays
Working Pattern:30 Hours per week, 4 x 7.5-hour shifts, 06.30-14.30 and 10.30-18.30, 2 weekends per month
Based at:Heald Green

The successful candidate will be subject to a Standard/Enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which is covered by the hospice. Any post holder within the organisation will be expected to undertake safeguarding training appropriate to their role and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures. All staff must work in accordance with their statutory roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding in accordance with the Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023, The Care Act 2014, and Prevent Duty 2015.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the work of the Hospice in its provisionof specialist palliative care by assisting the catering team to meet the food service aims and objectives.
  • The Catering Assistant plays a fundamental part in supporting the catering provision by ensuring all requirements for patients, visitors and staff are fully met.
  • The role requires someone who can show sensitivity and empathy as we support our patients and their families whilst in our care.
