Catering Assistant

Job Overview

We're seeking a Catering Assistant to join our national award-winning weddings team. Daytime and evening shifts available throughout the year.

No experience needed as full training can be provided on the job. We're looking for people with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

This is a part time role and suit somebody looking for work alongside education or other commitments. Weekend and evening availability is required but not every week. We can work with you to find the correct shift pattern.

We pride ourselves on a very friendly kitchen with everybody working together as a team. The emphasis is to promote from within and for the sharing of skills and knowledge between chefs of all abilities. Most of the chefs in the kitchen have started with us having no experience to begin with.

Shift Pattern

: we can be very flexible with start times and finish times and happy to work around yourself, but the ideal candidate will have weekend and evenings.

An example of shifts might 9am-6pm or 2-10pm

Responsibilities

Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, counting items. Be responsible for helping maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment. Assist with receiving and unpacking all deliveries, ensuring that the food and supply storage areas are organised Help with service food to assist food leaving the kitchen on wedding days

What are we looking for?

Commercial kitchen experience is highly valued but not essential at all Food Handling qualification or equivalent is desired but not essential as we can provide this for you Good time management skills and enthusiasm to learn Organisational skills are also important Good communication skills Can stand for extended periods is often necessary due to the physical nature of the job Must have the Right to Work in the UK Be able to travel to and from the venue safely.

Pay

Aged 18yrs-20yrs: 10.50 per hour Aged 21yrs+: 12.21 per hour
