is a charity base in Inverurie that offer adults with learning disabilities and difficulties (our trainees) skills training in catering, hospitality and baking in real work settings in our cafe, commercial kitchens, and meeting spaces.

37.5 hours over 5 out of 7 days per week

Job Purpose


The

Catering Assistant

supports the day-to-day running of the catering and hospitality services, helping to prepare and serve food and drinks while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer care. A key part of the role is to contribute to a positive working environment that supports the development of trainees by modelling good practice, encouraging participation, and promoting learning within a supportive, inclusive setting.

Key Responsibilities

will include but are not limited to:

Food Preparation & Service:



Assist with the preparation and presentation of food and beverages to a high standard. Serve customers courteously in the coffee shop, dining area, or during events. Support stock rotation, portion control, and waste reduction practices.

Hygiene & Safety:



Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining, and service areas in line with food hygiene regulations. Maintain and update records daily Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as required. Follow all health & safety procedures, including COSHH and food safety standards.

Trainee Support:



Assist in supervising and guiding trainees in the workplace under the direction of senior staff. Offer encouragement and model appropriate workplace behaviours. Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

General Duties:



Assist with deliveries, stock checks, and storage of food supplies. Report any issues with equipment, hygiene, or customer service to the supervisor. Support with events, outside catering, or room hire services as required.
