Kitchen Assistant Advert

About the Role:

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team, assisting with a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our kitchen. This role involves assisting chefs with food preparation, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and adhering to strict food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation:

Assisting with washing, peeling, chopping, and preparing ingredients.

Cleaning:

Washing dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment, as well as cleaning work surfaces, floors, and walls.

Hygiene:

Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to food safety regulations and procedures.

Stock Management:

Assisting with stocking and organizing the kitchen, ensuring adequate supplies are available.

Other Duties:

Assisting with other tasks as required by the kitchen staff.

Skills and Qualities:

Reliable and hardworking.

Good organizational skills.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Strong work ethic and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is a plus, but not essential



5 days out of 7 on a rota basis.

Nelson House is a modern and spacious 28 bedded locked rehabilitation recovery mental health service providing care for men of adult working age with mental illness. By having a focus on the development of skills for independence the unit provides a positive step for patients, many whose next step will be living in the community. It helps patients learn new ways of managing their conditions and symptoms with the aim of helping to prevent any future relapse. For patients with challenging behaviours, Nelson House helps them to learn skills to change their response to anxiety and distress.
