Job Description

08:00 - 18:30, 36.75 hours per week.


We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Catering Assistant to join our dedicated team in a dementia care home. This role is vital in supporting the nutritional wellbeing of our residents by helping to prepare and serve meals in a warm, respectful, and person-centred environment.


Key Responsibilities:




Assist in the preparation of nutritious, well-balanced meals tailored to residents' dietary needs and preferences Serve food and beverages in a friendly and dignified manner, ensuring a positive mealtime experience Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas, following food safety standards Support residents during mealtimes, offering gentle encouragement and assistance where needed Help with stock rotation, deliveries, and basic food storage tasks Collaborate with care staff to understand individual dietary requirements and preferences Uphold safeguarding and dignity standards at all times

Requirements:




Previous experience in a catering setting Understanding of dementia and a person-centred approach to care Excellent communication and teamwork skills Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to improve residents' quality of life

St Edith's Court in Leigh On Sea is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 39 residents.
