Job description
To support the Head Cook/Manager in the preparation and delivery of high-quality breakfast and lunch services, with a focus on managing the breakfast and pastry selection.
The role primarily involves cooking and preparing bought-in items, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained, and providing occasional support with counter service and school events.
Main duties:
Assist the Head Cook/Manager with food preparation when required.
Take responsibility for managing the breakfast and pastry selection each morning.
Operate Rational ovens and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Prepare and heat bought-in paninis and other pre-prepared items for service.
Follow a time-sensitive production schedule to ensure food is ready for service areas on time.
Apply basic baking skills as needed (baking ability is desirable).
Clean and maintain kitchen areas to a 5-star hygiene standard.
Receive, check, and store deliveries in accordance with food safety procedures.
Provide support at the service counter during busy periods.
Back up the kitchen team during lunch service as needed.
Complete all relevant food safety and kitchen training as required
Assist in catering for after-school events or functions when necessary
