As an integral part of the wider Facilities Team at Saxon Air, you will help to provide a vitally important service, helping to deliver high quality catering for clients, customers and staff. This role also provide an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of our expanding events catering business, helping to providing high-end and bespoke event catering to private clients hosting events at the BAC.

Candidate Specification
Saxon Air is looking for a Catering Assistant to join its busy Facilities Team on a permanent contract. We are looking for one candidate (20 hours per week) on a permanent basis, 20 hours make up is flexible to suit the right candidate and the needs of the business. You will be working on a shift basis that may include working some weekends and starting as early as 5.30am on some days. The best candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, catering experience, creativity, flexibility and strong work ethos.

Some form of catering/cooking experience is desirable
Duties (typically, but not exhaustive)
To assist where necessary with the cooking of food
To prepare, label, date and wrap all food items for sale
To monitor the quality of all food items at all times
To prepare and serve beverages as trained
To ensure the correct rotation and storage of food at all times
To ensure all merchandise is always correct and clean
To maintain correct and attractive presentation of the food display areas
Documentation is completed for the days revenue
To ensure an adequate supply of clean and presentable crockery, glasses, cutlery and condiments at all times
To follow the correct Cash/Stock and Security Procedures and to issue customers with VAT receipts following each transaction
To notify the Supervisor/Unit Manager immediately of any errors whilst operating the till and deal with the error efficiently with as little disruption as possible
To provide the highest standard of customer service
To upsell to each and every customer
To bring any complaints to the attention of the Manager/Supervisor
To clear and clean the tables
To transport used cutlery to the washing up area and wash all crockery and cutlery as trained using the correct cleaning products
To operate the dishwasher, monitor the cleanliness of all equipment and change the water every 3 hours, (where applicable)
Ensure general cleaning is completed as detailed in the site cleaning schedule
To open/close the premises when required and cash up at the end of the day ensuring that all monies are correct
To carry out any other reasonable duties requested by your Supervisor/Dept Manager
Fundamentals
We are looking for one candidate (20 hours per week) on a permanent basis, 20 hour make up is flexible to suit the right candidate and the needs of the business. The role will be in-person at our facility at Norwich airport. Ideally, you will have a valid UK Driving Licence or the ability to get to the facility for shifts, as you will be required to cover shifts that include early starts, so this role may not suit anyone relying on public transport.
