Job Title: Catering Assistant
Trust: Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
Location: Ormskirk District General Hospital, Dicconson Way, Wigan Rd, Ormskirk L39 2AZ
Pay rate: 12.51 - 22.90/hr (shift dependant)
Rota and Hours: Mondays - Sundays, various shifts between 7.30am and 7pm, on rota basis - 20 hours per week & 37.5 hour per week available.
NHS Professionals require pro-active and hardworking cleaners to work within the Estates & Facilities team at Ormskirk & District General Hospital.

The post holder will be an integral part of the domestic team and will be responsible for ensuring the department is kept clean and tidy as per NHS standards.
About the Role:
As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, from food preparation and hygiene management to customer service and cash handling. Key Responsibilities:
Support food preparation and ensure compliance with hygiene standards and allergen awareness protocols.
Monitor food temperatures, maintain food safety practices, and uphold excellent hygiene standards.
Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Handle cash and operate the till accurately and confidently.
Contribute to the team's success by working collaboratively and helping maintain a positive atmosphere.
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking someone with a passion for food and customer service, along with the following qualifications and attributes:
Level 2 Food Safety Certificate and a strong understanding of temperature monitoring, hygiene standards, and allergen awareness.
High standards of personal hygiene and attention to detail.
Proven experience working in a cafe or restaurant environment.
Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
A friendly and professional attitude with the ability to fit into a close-knit, experienced team.
Cash handling and till experience is essential.
