Catering Assistant (Part-time, term-time)



Hamilton College is a non-denominational Christian Independent School for children and young people from the ages of 2-18. The school encompasses Nursery, Junior and Senior levels generating a truly 'family' atmosphere for the individual as they journey through the school.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our catering team. We seek someone who is dependable, a team player, has a good work ethic and can support learners and colleagues.

Key areas include:

Assist in the preparation and serving of school meals in accordance with menus and dietary requirements. Ensure the dietary needs and allergen requirements of learners, staff, and parents are consistently met. This includes: Accurately identifying and preparing meals for individuals with specific dietary restrictions or allergies. Communicating clearly with the catering team, school staff, and parents to ensure safe food handling and service. Ensuring allergen signage and labelling are clear and compliant with school and legal standards. Participating in relevant training and staying informed about food safety regulations and best practices. Ensure food is presented attractively and served in a timely manner. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing up and cleaning surfaces and equipment. Set up and clear down the dining area before and after meal service. Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times. Assist with stock rotation and storage of deliveries. Provide friendly and courteous service to pupils and staff. Support themed meal days and school events as required. Support the school with events in evenings and weekends as required Report any concerns regarding food safety, equipment, or pupil welfare to the Catering Manager.

Hours



15 hours per week (1130 - 1430, Monday - Friday). Term time plus inset days.



The successful applicant must either be an existing member of the PVG Scheme or be prepared to join this scheme and prove their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. An offer of employment will be subject to two satisfactory references and a clean report from Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme.
