The Catering Assistant plays a pivotal role in ensuring an outstanding dining experience for students and staff. The core focus is providing excellent customer service, actively assisting in the preparation of delicious and nutritious meals utilizing fresh, sustainable ingredients, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and kitchen hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service Excellence:
Providing a friendly and efficient service to all students and staff during meal times.
Meal Preparation Support:
Assisting the catering team in the preparation and presentation of food to the highest quality standards.
Operational Duties:
Operating tills (full training provided) and supporting overall service flow.
Hygiene and Safety Compliance:
Maintaining an impeccable standard of cleanliness within the kitchen environment at all times, strictly adhering to all safety guidelines, including Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies.

Certification (Desirable):
Food Hygiene Level 2 is preferred but
not essential
, as full training will be provided.

Schedule -
Monday to Friday working, no weekends or late nights.
Working Hours -
25 hours per week.
Contract -
38 working weeks per year (term time only).
Rate of Pay -
12.21 per hour.
