Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team at Ori Caffe within John Lewis in Solihull. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a keen interest in providing exceptional service to our guests. This role involves assisting with the preparation, presentation, and serving of food at various events, ensuring that all catering operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items for catering events, adhering to food safety standards. Support the catering team in setting up and dismantling event spaces, ensuring all equipment is properly arranged. Serve food and beverages to guests with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, including kitchen and serving stations. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during events and respond effectively to guest needs. Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation.

Experience

Previous experience in hospitality or catering is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Familiarity with food safety practices is an advantage. Experience in serving or guest services within a restaurant or hotel environment is beneficial. A background in culinary arts or food preparation will be considered an asset. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team are essential for success in this role.
