Job Title: Catering Assistant
Location: Butterwick Hospice, Middlefield Road Stockton-On-Tees TS19 8XN
Hours: 12 hours per week, Saturday, Sunday and one weekday (3 days in total)
Occasional Overtime
Pay 12.21 per hour

Job Summary: As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospice's catering services. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the catering team in preparing and serving meals to patients, visitors, and staff. You will work closely with the Head Chef and other team members to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
Responsibilities:
Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals, snacks, and beverages.
Following recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
Ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen and dining areas.
Adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
Assisting in the receiving and storage of food and supplies.
Collaborating with the catering team to plan and execute special events and functions.
Providing excellent customer service t patients, visitors, and staff.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a catering or food service role is desirable but not essential.
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects if required.
