You will support the Catering Team in delivering a customer focused catering service throughout the hospital following agreed work schedules, methods and procedures in accordance with the national standards for these services.

The role will be part time, on rota, working Monday to Sunday. It will be for 12 hours per week.

Assist in the preparation of food and beverages for the staff and patients within the Hospital To be responsible for ordering of patient meals and to maintain an effective system of communication with the Kitchen and Nursing Staff with regard to patients' dietary requirements To assist with meal service at ward level Ensure compliance with all legislation relating to food safety management Store keeping including, checking deliveries, storage and stock rotation To ensure all catering areas are cleaned in accordance with daily and weekly cleaning schedules Care and safe use of catering equipment Maintain & replenish stock and ensure that equipment is clean & well maintained Disposal of waste in accordance with HMT Waste Policy

Your knowledge, skills and experience



Essential

Good communication skills, with a good understanding of the English language both written and spoken

Presentable and approachable with flexibility to changes in routine or work environment.

Ability to work on own initiative following Policies and Procedures, and able to take and follow instructions to react to changing circumstances.

Good Customer Care Skills

Desirable



Experience in health care catering environment or similar role.

NVQ or equivalent in catering services

Catering for dietary requirements

Food Hygiene Qualification

Desirable

COSHH/HACCP
