Job Description

Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team.

We are a brand new specialist school situated on the edge of picturesque Dartmoor. It is an incredible honour to be entrusted with the responsibility of shaping our new school to deliver a truly bespoke educational experience that will allow your child to thrive and flourish.

Our school currently offers education to 80 students and aims to grow in the coming years to accommodate 100 students.

All our students have EHCPs (education, health and care plans) with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) as an identified need. The majority of students also have additional special educational needs such as communication and interaction difficulties, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and ASD (autism spectrum disorder).

At the heart of our school, we are committed to supporting the young people in our care to build their self-esteem and confidence, develop meaningful and positive friendships and engage in a curriculum that will allow them to find success in their adult lives.

Our Trust comprises of 19 schools, 3 Colleges, 15 Primaries, and one All Through SEMH Special school. Established in 2018, We are situated in beautiful Devon on the out the outskirts of the stunning Dartmoor National Park. The schools vary in size and are all unique. The Role



School Meals



Kitchen and dining area preparation for lunchtime service and following service. Receive meal delivery from Okehampton College, place in Hot hold cupboard, record food temperatures. Serving food at the main kitchen servery. To see that drinking water/juice is provided. Carry out kitchen / food compliance in accordance with current legislation. General cleaning of the kitchen and dishwashing. Assist generally as directed by the school team. Carryout and keep up to date with Trust and Goosemoor Training. To supervise the orderly return of empties to a given point. To wipe down tables and sweep the floor between, and at the end of, sittings as time permits. To clean up after spillage of food, water or sickness in dining area during the service of the meal. All other duties required to assist with the smooth running of the kitchen and areas of service. Work with our catering partner Goosemoor Educatering.

General



To encourage good behaviour by the effective use of the school's Behaviour Policy. To report to SLT any untoward circumstances, e.g. Safeguarding concerns.

The successful candidate will be required to come to DMAT HQ to complete mandatory training.

Training Details:

Location: Central Head Office (Wardhayes) 8 Simmons Way, Okehampton, EX20 1PY

Purpose: To provide comprehensive training on company policies, procedures, and systems necessary for successful integration into the role.

Training Schedule: Daily sessions from 9am to 4pm, with breaks provided.
