Catering Assistant:

Flexible Part-Time, Permanent. 12 minimum per week.

Salary:

11 - 12.30 per hour

Opening Times/Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 9am-4.00pm with occasional evening and weekend work. Shifts usually 4 - 6 hours.

Ability to commute/relocate

: Thirsk, North Yorkshire - YO7 4SA: reliably be able to commute, free parking available.

Maple Park Cafe is a family-owned company, founded on family, respect, honesty, pride and exceptional service. We are looking for an additional Catering Assistant to join our team. The position will be responsible for serving a selection of hot beverages and fresh food as well as general cleaning duties and providing support to the kitchen and management team where required.

Maple Park Cafe has a function room for private bookings, used primarily by people attending the nearby Maple Park Crematorium.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate good organisational skills, a passion for excellent service and keen eye for details with the ability to work alone when required. Flexible part-time hours are to be discussed; you will be rewarded with a competitive hourly salary.

Experience

:

Customer facing roles in catering (preferred) Hospitality: 1 year (preferred) Food Safety Level 2 training (preferred)

Main Responsibilities

:

Cleaning and sanitising all tableware, cleaning of a dining area Working with the Manager setting up dining areas by arranging chairs, tables, menus, tea and coffee service points according to the Manager's instructions Loading and unloading food, tableware and catering supplies on and off catering vehicles Ensuring there is no shortage of supplies by managing orders and inventory Accepting payment of services from clients Answering guests' questions related to catering services during an event Assisting the Head Chef with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, peeling, preparing sandwiches etc Assisting with kitchen and front of house opening and closing procedures Filling in food safety paperwork, and cleaning schedule paper works, as per the food safety manual
