This role will include alternate weekends
To support the chef in all aspects of catering provided through the kitchen.
Washing, peeling and preparing food items.
Using a variety of kitchen equipment such as mixers, special knives and cutters.
Unloading deliveries.
Organising the storeroom.
Washing kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls.
Support the daily provision of fresh food for the residents, minimising the need for pre-prepared food.
To be compliant with food safety, environmental health standards and CQC standards for food preparation.
Minimising waste when preparing meals.
To work with kindness and consideration and to take pride in completing work to a high standard.
Contributing to creating a well-maintained environment.
Food Safety and Hygiene qualification desirable.
Experience of assisting a catering function provided to Service users.
Genuine interest in working within a caring environment.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Team Player.
Willingness to participate in vocational training programmes.
Satisfactory police check and check against the ISA list (where applicable).
Understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Understanding of Infection Control
